MAMIO: Thai singer-songwriter who captures new listeners with her unique style

Thai singer-songwriter Sutipat “Pat” Sutiwanit has gone from fronting the alternative band Zweed n' Roll to creating her own solo career under the stage name MAMIO . Through a blend of lo-fi, electronic music and traditional Thai folk music, she has quickly gained attention on the Thai music scene.

From band member to solo artist: MAMIO's new musical journey

After over a decade as the frontwoman of Zweed n' Roll, MAMIO decided to explore a new musical identity. By returning to her original nickname "Mamio", she wanted to create music that better reflects her personality and artistic vision. Her goal was to reach both old and new listeners with a fresh and dynamic energy.

"Mamio is my true self – an independent and courageous person who knows what she wants. I used to use the nickname 'Pat', but now I feel like I can finally express my true identity through music," she said in an interview.

Music that mixes old and new

Her debut song “วิวรับ” (“Lover”) is inspired by the music of the 70s and 90s and reflects her personal experiences through a mix of different genres. The song has received a very positive response and highlights her unique ability to create a distinctive soundscape that combines Thai Folk, Lo-Fi and electronic elements.

“I wanted to create a soundscape that feels nostalgic but at the same time fresh and innovative. It’s about finding a balance between the old and the new,” says MAMIO.

Another song that has received a lot of attention is “เรื่องเกลือ” (Cancer) , an emotionally powerful and visually stunning music video that poetically portrays emotional and physical challenges. Appearances and future plans

MAMIO has already performed at several events, including the Thailand Music Countdown , where she performed “Lover” live to the cheers of the audience. She has also expressed her admiration for international artists such as Corinne Bailey Rae , demonstrating her wide range of musical inspirations.
