Thailand's Prime Minister Paetongtarn among the world's 100 most powerful women

Thailand's Prime Minister Paetongtarn has been named one of the the world's 100 most powerful women in 2024. Her leadership and political influence have made headlines globally and strengthen her position as a key player in international politics.

Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra has taken his seat Forbes list over "100 of the world's most powerful women in 2024". She ranks 29th globally and is the third most powerful in Asia.

Here are the women from Asia and Southeast Asia who qualified for the list, sorted by position:

  1. Sandy Ran Xu (27th), CEO of Chinese e-commerce giant JD.com.
  2. Nirmala Sitharaman (28th), Finance Minister and In-charge of Corporate Affairs in India.
  3. Paetongtarn Shinawatra (29th), Prime Minister of Thailand.
  4. Ho Ching (32nd), Chairman of Temasek Trust in Singapore.
  5. Sri Mulyani Indrawati (49th), Minister of Finance of Indonesia.
  6. Helen Wong (59th), Group CEO of OCBC in Singapore.
  7. Jenny Lee (96th), senior partner at Granite Asia in Singapore.

Paetongtarn, who became Thailand's 31st prime minister at the age of 37, is the country's youngest ever prime minister and a prominent leader in the region.
