
Thailand has officially launched Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism and Sports Year 2025, an initiative to strengthen the country's tourism industry through a series of international festivals, sporting events and cultural initiatives. The government aims to attract 39 million international visitors and generate over 3 trillion baht in revenue.
Tourism as an economic driver
At the inauguration ceremony, the Prime Minister emphasized Pathong Tharnchinawat Tourism is one of the most important economic sectors for Thailand. With the transition from traditional industry to a digital economy, the government wants to create new travel experiences and attractions.
The most important initiatives include:
- International festivals in music, food and culture
- Sports and event tourism to position Thailand as a regional hub

- New infrastructure investments for improved transportation solutions and safety measures
- Digitalization and AI to improve experiences and efficiency
Thailand as a global travel hub
The government plans to organize large-scale festivals and events in Bangkok, Phuket and Chiang Mai, among others. At the same time, it wants to boost tourism in lesser-known regions to spread income more evenly across the country.
Thailand will also develop new attractions and events within the framework of the so-called "man-made tourism", where unique travel experiences are created to attract more visitors.
