Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra recently attended the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, where she highlighted Thailand’s role as a leader in innovation and sustainable development. During the meeting with WEF founder Klaus Schwab, the possibilities for Thailand to host a special meeting in 2026 were discussed, which would position the country as a global hub for innovation and collaboration.

Focus on youth and technology
A central point during the Prime Minister's visit was the importance of investing in youth development. Discussions were held about a possible Young Global Leaders Summit in Thailand, an initiative that would foster the next generation of leadership and innovation. “Thailand has a strong commitment to empowering youth and promoting technology that drives a sustainable future,” the prime minister said.

Strategic collaborations for the future
Thailand also highlighted opportunities for increased cooperation in agriculture, food security and soft power. Professor Klaus Schwab praised Thailand's potential and stressed the importance of building long-term partnerships that contribute to the WEF's global initiatives.

International hosting in sight
The Prime Minister invited Klaus Schwab to deliver the keynote address at the Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) High-Level Conference in Phuket in May 2025. This initiative demonstrates Thailand's ambition to become a central player in international cooperation and sustainable development.
