Trang highlighted as a wedding destination during Love Wins Festival 2025

2025-02-16

The province Trang in southern Thailand has emerged as one of the country’s most romantic destinations, especially after the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) made a move to promote the region as an attractive destination for weddings and honeymoons. The 28th edition of the annual “Love Wins Festival 2025,” held from February 13 to 15, combined romance with traditional Thai ceremonies, attracting couples from both Thailand and abroad.

Underwater Wedding Ceremony – now with same-sex couples

One of the highlights of the festival was the well-known “Underwater Wedding Ceremony”, where couples literally get married underwater in the crystal clear waters of the Andaman Sea at Hat Chao Mai National Park. The ceremony has been going on for several years and has become a signature for TrangNew for 2025 was the participation of two same-sex couples for the first time, thanks to Thailand's new marriage law that gives all couples the right to marry. This made the festival historic and further strengthened Trangs image as a modern and inclusive destination.

Romantic activities and cultural events

The Love Wins Festival also featured a range of other activities, such as beach wedding ceremonies at Pak Meng Beach, traditional Thai couple ceremonies and romantic dinners by the sea. Local business owners saw increased interest in package deals that included wedding planning, accommodation and tours to Trangs beautiful islands and caves. The festival also featured local parades, culinary experiences and cultural activities that showcased Trangs charm and hospitality.

TAT's long-term investment

The Tourism Authority of Thailand has identified Trang as a strategic location for wedding tourism. The region offers pristine beaches, friendly locals and a unique blend of culture and nature. The move is part of Thailand's broader strategy to diversify tourism and attract more niche markets, such as weddings and honeymoons.

Trang strengthens its position

With the success of Love Wins Festival 2025, Trang has taken another step towards becoming one of Thailand's top wedding destinations. Both local authorities and businesses hope that the positive development will continue and that more couples, regardless of background, will choose to celebrate love in this idyllic part of the country. The event is organized by Trang Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and several local stakeholders.
