Analysis of currency developments
During week 14-2025, the European currencies have once again strengthened their positions against the Thai baht. The Swedish krona (SEK) has had the largest increase with +2,27%, closely followed by the euro (EUR) and the British pound (GBPThe US dollar (USD) has also had a clear rise of +1,20%.
- USD/THB: The dollar is clearly strengthening this week, which can be linked to increased demand for safe assets in connection with trade tensions and continued strong US employment figures.
- GBP/THB: The pound is influenced by stable economic indicators in the UK and growing confidence in a controlled inflation trend.
- EUR/THB: The euro continues to show strength, partly due to expectations of continued tight monetary policy measures within the eurozone.
- SEK/THB: The krona's rise is impressive and continues the strong trend that began at the beginning of the year. An example of how this affects in practice is that a Thai retailer who previously paid 31373 THB to buy goods worth 10000 SEK now has to pay 34153 THB – a noticeable increase in just a few months.
